Paul Hood is an avid snow skier and has enjoyed the slopes in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, California, and Canada for many years. Due to the enthusiasm for snow skiing and the mountains, his cousin Jim Hood and wife Karen invited him to go on a Sierra Club hiking trip to Yosemite National Park in July of 2003. Paul was immediately addicted to this new activity of hiking in the back country and the High Sierra’s. Before that trip Mr. Hood had purchased his first digital camera, a Canon S400 ELPH, and was amazed at both the picture quality and the ability to take all the pictures he wanted and see the results instantly. That trip reintroduced him to the world of photography. Upon his return from Yosemite, his friends and family were enthusiastic about the photos he had taken and his desire and passion for photography was growing. It took several years for him to realize that many people enjoyed his photography and considered his pictures of high quality needing to hang in someone’s home or office. At the encouragement of his co-workers, he was persuaded to do a local arts festival over Labor Day weekend of 2009. It was an enjoyable weekend and a humbling experience, but also one he learned from that helped him grow as a photographer. Another of Mr. Hood’s passions is computers, so with that in mind, technology meets photography and a website was born to view his works. Being a flatlander from Oklahoma, he greatly enjoys visiting and hiking in our wonderful national parks and capturing the breath taking beauty of God’s landscape which he loves to share and hopes that you will enjoy as well.
